Disneyland Paris - Good, Bad & The Magical

March 8, 2019

Hi Friends --

The long and waited Disneyland Paris post is here! I thought to myself, how do I want to go about this? Do I give you a full review? Do I give tips on how to save money? So I'm going to spit it up and write two posts (holy heck I know).

This post is going to be my overall experience, the good, bad & magical parts.

The Good:

The good is obvious, YOU'RE IN DISNEY! That's my only good thing, moving on.

Just kidding! There were a lot of good parts about when I visited Disneyland Paris.
I went during the winter season (January to be exact). There were NO lines for anything, no crowds, you could actually meet and interact with characters without being in extremely long lines, which I never get to do when I go to any of the other parks. Tower Of Terror, Ratatouille, Pete Pans Flight, are some on the most popular attractions and the lines were less then 5 minutes. I like to get take a lot of photos (duh here is my instagram if you want to check out some of them), so finding great spots for photos, like the castle one above, or the balloon photo below was another great perk again without having  to wait for people to move or take forever at the spot you want to take a photo of. Lastly, the BEST part was getting an up close spot for the the Pirates & Princess Parade! Let's be real, I usually never watch any of the parades because of the crowds and I'm most likely in line for one of the rides that has a long wait. But the getting to actually enjoy a parade with a good view was truly magical! So honestly, the limited crowd and small lines was a big perk about going this time of year.

The Bad:

I sadly have a few bad things that I encountered while visiting this magical park. With it being the middle of January, it's freeeeezzzing! Holy heck, I had so many layers on I was still freezing my Minnie ears off. Some rides I wanted to do (Flying Dumbos, Toy Story Roller Coaster), were unbearable due to the temperature outside, so that was a bummer. With it being winter and off season a lot of the attractions at both parks were closed for renovations, like Rockin Roller Coaster & Art of Animation, so keep that in mind when you're planning a trip in the winter, you're still paying full price for very little access to some great attractions. Another downside was the food, almost none of the restaurants were open, not even the quick services stand for snacks. I think it was around 3 pm myself and my mom were really hungry and we couldn't find anything open. It was extremely disappointing that even the Ratatouille restaurant was closed, again for renovations, we ended up going to the only the spot open, and they started closing the buffet down at 4:30, we didn't even get dessert because it was fully shut down, and we paid a lot of money to eat there. I would suggests bring snacks if you choose to go in the winter. Lastly, the merchandise was very disappointing as well. I wanted so badly to find mystery pin packs, and there were NONE to be found, they don't have them at all. There were somethings that only Disneyland Paris offers, but I was picked over I luckily go the very last Minnie Pin (thank the Disney Gods).

The Magical

Even though we ran into some not so great things at these parks, it was still magical and an experience I will never forget. Getting to spend that time with mom was really special and unforgettable. It also snowed while were there and seeing The Made Hatter running around in the snow and other characters doing the same is something not a lot of people get to experience. Seeing all little girls dressed in princess outfits, I even got a a balloon for a photo and then gave it to this sweet little girl after I was done with it, its moments like that when you can create your own magic that are truly special about Disney. I also met two youtubers, Georgia May & Misha Grimes, such nice people! We start chatting about their channels and my blog and even took some pictures together, Disney just brings people together!

To wrap up, yes I will never go back to Disneyland Paris in the winter, but I look forward to going back one day in the future, and my love for Disney will never change, no matter what bad experience I may encounter, the magic moment make up for it.

(Affordable) Lipsticks I've Been Loving

February 24, 2019

(This post is NOT sponsored & all opinions are my own)

Hi Friends --

We still have a week of February left and with this being the month of LOVE, I wanted to share three lips colors and brands I have been wearing all of February. also I noticed almost every color in my makeup bag is either a pink, nude or mauve color, if your like me and like a good natural color with a hint of pink then you're going to love this post.

1. Revlon Kiss Cushion Lip Tint ---210 Pretty Kiss

I've already gone through two of these because it's seriously AMAZING! My lips get very dry in the winter (who's doesn't right?), and this product drenches my lips with, A. moisture (a lot of it) & B. SPF 20, even though it's winter your lips can still get burnt! I also love the sponge like applicator. It reminds me of the Age Rewind Concealer(also by Revlon), a little goes a long way.
The color is also very flattering, it gives the right amount of color with a little shine, I highly recommend this for an everyday wearable lip.

2. Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink -- Dreamer

Don't let the color fool you! I was a little nervous when I first opened the bottle, but this is such a pretty, girly pink color, that it's perfect for a casual or dressy look. It is matte, so you want to make sure your lips are very moisturized before using this product, because my lips do a dry out a little with this product, however I don't have to reply at all, it stays on pretty much an entire day, even after sips of coffee. I also really like the applicator as well, it has more of an arrow head to it, which helps make your application very precise.

3. NYX Lingerie -- Satin Ribbon

The Lingerie line from NYX to me is a luxurious lipstick with a plush matte finish. I don't use this particular one alone like I do with all the others, I line my lips first with L'oreal Colour Riche Matte lip liner in 112, fill my lips in a little with the liner and then apply my lipstick. The NYX color alone is a little to nude for my skin tone, but combing it with a lip liner really helps color stand out and is another perfect everyday lip color.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and I've also included a none filtered photo below so you can see the the colors a lot better, I'm also wearing the Revlon one in that photo.

What I Got In Paris

Galentines Day Brunch : On an Affordable Budget

February 12, 2019

 Happy Galentines Day Ya'll!

Galentines Day was created by everyones favorite Park Director, Leslie Knope on one of my all time favorite tv shows, Parks & Recreation. It's pretty much the best day of the year, because it's all about celebrating your BFFs.

“Oh it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.” - Leslie Knope

My husband is my soul mate, but my girls are first true loves. I only have a core group girl friends, friends I know they'll always have my back, stand up for me in a bar fight (it happened once guys), drop everything they are doing to help me paint furniture on random week nights & most importantly bring me pizza and champagne when i'm having a bad day.

Sometimes you need just need to sip champagne, eat an omelette, gossip and catch up!

Budget Friendly Gifts & Decor

As many of you know, I'm on a strict budget with  my husband. So when I brought up the idea of hosting a Galentines Day I said "baby whats my budget for decorations and obviously gifts for my girls." He said can you do it all for $50? I said challenge accepted!

I live literally on the border of Delaware (NO SALES TAX), so I went to my favorite place, and I'm not ashamed to admit this, DOLLAR TREE! They seriously have the best decorations for any holiday. I grabbed, champagne flutes, anything pink and red & hear related, candy & a ton of balloons! I spent less than $30 and still had enough to spend on little pamper gifts for the girls. Went to my next favorite store, WAL MART and put together little clear cosmetic bags with eye mask, face masks, a dainty heart shaped jewelry jar and a nail polish, what girl doesn't like to pamper themselves?

 The Spread

I wanted to keep the food simple, this was not part of the $50, but a lot of this stuff I already had in the house plus each girl brought something which helped me out a lot!
I made yogurt parfaits, hashbrowns & bacon. My husband being the amazing person he is made us all omelets, he was cute and took everyone's order like a waiter <3 While the omelets where cooking we sipped on a raspberry lemonade champagne concoction I came up with (honestly I just wanted a pink a drink with champagne, I had theme here yall), nibbled on festive donuts & munched on some yummy macaroons I brought back from Paris.

It was a perfect morning spent with a bunch of ladies I love most, and goes to show, a little budget can go a long way!

PS thanks for the photos ladies, I was still getting ready and didn't take any before photos all my friends did :-).

Leather Leggings 3 Ways

January 2, 2019

Happy New Year Ya'll!

Hope everyone had an amazing holiday break.

My goal for 2019 is to really focus on Jo's Notes and bring you content that will be useful & affordable. Over my break I sat down and worked on my content calendar for the year, and I'm pretty excited to say the least.

My style has gone a whole 180, from big patterns, bright colors now to more simple pallet such as black, white, cream, grey & blush pink and if you haven't already read my Capsule Wardrobe series go check it out, it's been a life saver for me especially being on a budget this past year.Parts 2 & 3 are coming in January!

I've been seeing leather leggings all over social media, and thought to myself, these are a perfect staple to any wardrobe, but how do you style them? Well, I dug in my closet and put together 3 looks for you, a casual, comfy & going out outfits.

If you couldn't already tell I'm a huge fan of black, and pairing black with black along with pops of color to me is just classy. I paired this outfit with over the knee boots, these are great for breaking up all the black, I went with my brown boots, but grey would be a great option as well.

Let's face it, I live in comfy clothes, as soon as I get home from work I slip right into my sweat pants and oversize sweater. These leggings are actually extremely comfortable! This outfit I paired it with any oversize cami (you could also do a flowy v-neck), and my favorite grey sweater, face it I would even consider this a casual outfit with a cute pair of light pink sliders to add some color.

Going Out:

This was hard, because I honestly don't have ANY going out clothes, and if I do go out it's usually pizza and beer with hubs and I'm almost alway wearing some sort of Disney tee and jeans (ha). But, like I said previously, black is just classic and you can dress any outfit outfit up with a good pair of shoes & chunky jewelry.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and you don't need to go shopping to put 3 outfits together. Just open your closet and play around!

P.S. all of these pieces are old but I've linked similar ones below!
